All of our Boomerangs are made from sections of hardwood of the same shape as the final shape of the boomerang, (i.e.: a bend in the arm of a tree), so that the grain runs tip to tip consistent with the shape of the boomerang, to insure maximum strength and integrity, as well as beauty. Larger boomerangs create travel in a larger arc, smaller ones travel in a smaller arc.

The returning boomerang was used in conjunction with non-returning boomerangs in hunting birds, particularly water fowl. First, a returning boomerang was throw over the heads of a flock of birds which were on the ground. This returning boomerang would appear overhead as if a bird of prey, such as a hawk or an eagle. Smaller birds such as water fowl would tend to stay close to the ground, not wanting to fly and possibly become snatched by a predatory bird. Almost simultaneously to the first boomerang being thrown, a non-returning Killer Boomerang was thrown into the flock. The confusion caused by the two boomerangs would tend to keep the birds pinned to the ground for a longer time which would give the hunters time to throw a second killer boomerang straight into the thick of the flock.

Another technique was to use a returning boomerang to steer a flock of birds while in flight either into a net, or simply to bring them into closer range to other hunters wielding boomerangs.
